Juan Hinojosa in dialogue with Clare Patrick

​A year since completing Arts Research Residency with L'AiR Arts, curator Clare Patrick chats with artist Juan Hinojosa as part of the Foundwork's Dialogue series.

In this interview, Hinojosa describes some of his favorite means of sourcing materials and his recent experiences making art in isolation during the lockdowns in New York where the artist lives and works. Throughout his practice to date, Hinojosa's collage and sculpture offers a space for exploration full of lush and playful references, while emphasizing questions of consumerism, collecting, and value. They also speak about Juan's work as part of Site Visit exhibition, a collaborative residency project initiated by Clare and featuring over fifty residents of L'AiR Arts.
