Ole Lejbach, Denmark
Ole Lejbach, is a well known danish artist. Appraised for his drawing skills and with numerous exhibitions inside Denmark and abroad. Latest in November 2019 he was representing Denmark at Journées d’Art Contemporain de Carthage in Tunis.
“My favorite medium is the drawing. I grew up with a pencil in my hand, my dad was an amateur artist, my uncle a professional artist who taught me the craft from scratch. I love to draw, from small quick-on-a-second observations to large elaborate drawings in pencil, charcoal, ink, pigments, chalk, etc.
From 2010 to 2015, I traveled Denmark thin to draw the more than hundred-year-old oak trees that is spread throughout the country. The result was 84 pencil drawings in the format 140 x 100 cm. 52 of them were published in a book with texts by the author Jens Blendstrup and the originals were displayed at three major museums in Denmark. It was the drawing as a finished work of art. Book and exhibition were praised to the clouds in the media.
