Alexandra Uppman, Luxembourg
|
Alexandra Uppman is an artist based in Luxembourg, with Luxembourgish and Finnish origins. A graduate of the École de Recherche Graphique in Brussels, she draws her inspiration from the forest, a space that connects her diverse roots and serves as the starting point for her reflections on belonging and the feeling of home.
Influenced by metal music culture, she explores the emotional and symbolic links between nature and identity. Alexandra primarily works with oil charcoal drawing and sculpture, while also seeking to integrate immersive and atmospheric elements into her creations. Her recent exhibitions include presentations at the MNAHA – Musée national d'histoire et d'art (LU), the Cercle Cité (LU), and Luxembourg Art Week (LU). During her residency with L'AiR Arts at Atelier 11 Cité Falguière, the artist will explore historic Parisian sites and develop a series of drawings inspired by these locations, all while experimenting with the medium. Meet Alexandra Uppman and discover her work during the exhibition and open studio event on March 21, as part of the 2026 Le Printemps du dessin!
