Edith Varez is an art historian specializing in Italian art from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as modern and contemporary art.
She holds a master’s degree in art history from the École du Louvre, where she focused on the work of Fedor Löwenstein, a Jewish artist from Czechoslovakia, and his artistic production in France during World War II. As part of her studies, she also participated in an Erasmus program in Rome, conducting research on Lavinia Fontana, the first woman artist to work on equal footing with her male contemporaries. Edith joined L’AiR Arts to contribute to the Atelier 11 artistic heritage project, with the goal of understanding how an artist residency functions. She recently started a new job at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain while remaining actively engaged in the L'AiR Arts cultural activities as a member of the Board. |
