Eladio Aguilera, Spain / France
Eladio Aguilera (Seville, Spain, 1995) is an artist, researcher and curator. His work focuses on creating physical and immersive exhibitions. Embracing and individualizing, respecting and confronting, are features that characterize all the curatorial projects he has undertaken so far. His approach highlights the significance of the artist's body as essential for the transmission of contemporary knowledge and culture, and emphasizes the importance of personal and emotional relationships within the city's artistic body.
As an artist he has been selected in calls and residencies such as grants such as Culturex '23 at Centre Pompidou Paris, FormArte '23, also residence in Paris, Vasos Comunicantes DKV '23 for the Centre Pompidou Málaga, November to Vitry '22, Barcelona Crea '22, Injuve '21, Sala d'Art Jove '21 in Barcelona, Girona Art Biennale '21, Emergent Art Sabadell '20, production support I from the BilbaoArte Foundation, the JCE residency in Montrouge in 2020, PANORAMA #1 of the Fran Reus Gallery in Palma de Mallorca in 2017. He presents individual and group exhibitions at the Arranz-Bravo Foundation in 2022, at the Fundació Joan Brossa in 2022, at the Blueproject Foundation in 2021, at the VUNU Gallery in Košice in Slovakia, at the CAC Málaga, at the Birimbao Gallery in Seville, at CC Las Cigarreras in Alicante in 2017. As a curator, he has developed projects such as Los Frutos de la Manos at the Centre Pompidou Málaga and at the birthplace of Pablo Picasso in 2024, Restes De Traces at the Orion Tower in Montreuil, France in 2023, Arxivar-se (ser arxiu) about the Brossa archives at the Fundació Joan Brossa in 2022, Las Palabras Azules at Pas Une Orange in Barcelona, MAZE at ChezKit in Pantin in 2021, It's Not Dirty, It is Painted at FASE in Barcelona. Eladio graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and holds a Master's degree in Artistic Production and Research from the University of Barcelona. He currently lives and works in Paris. |
During his residency at Atelier 11, Eladio is co-curating a group exhibition with Margaux Knight that will open on September 20th as part of the 2024 European Heritage Days with this year’s theme "Heritage of Routes, Networks, and Connections".
