EXHIBITION
Curated by Chaos and Cosmos
7 - 12 April, 2026
Atelier 11 Cité Falguière, 75015 Paris
Opening hours:
Vernissage: Tuesday, April 7, from 5 pm to 8 pm (17h - 20h)
Wednesday, April 8 to Sunday April 12, from 2 pm to 7 pm (14h - 19h)
EXPOSED takes place in the historic Atelier 11 of Cité Falguière in Paris, one of the last surviving studios of the Montparnasse artistic community. Within these walls, artists such as Amedeo Modigliani, Tsuguharu Foujita, and Chaïm Soutine helped define a modern canon of representing the human body, in which the nude, most often female, appeared reclining, seated, or accompanied by an object. These works continued to shape figuration in visual art and established the body as both image and object of the gaze.
As part of the Chaos and Cosmos curatorial residency with L'AiR Arts, EXPOSED returns to Cité Falguière to reconsider what it means for a body to appear today, both as an image and as an object of artistic creation. The exhibition approaches the body as active, visible, and present, shaped by material, context, and perception rather than by predefined poses or hierarchies. Exposure is framed as an act of agency rather than display. Bodies, gestures, and interventions occupy space on their own terms, engaging with history and memory.
Artists of different generations, geographies, and degrees of institutional visibility contribute to this dialogue.
EXPOSED does not present a fixed narrative or a single perspective. Instead, it emphasizes multiplicity, agency, and the active presence of bodies in dialogue with history, material, and space, suggesting a reconfigured artistic condition of bodily presence.
