Lukáš Berberic, Slovakia
Lukáš Berberich is a cultural manager, producer, and programmer with a strong focus on international artistic residencies and interdisciplinary collaborations. Since 2015, he has been the co-founder and director of Kino Úsmev, an art house cinema and cultural space in Košice, Slovakia.
He is a founding member and manager of Literárne Rezidencie Košice, an international literary residency program fostering exchange among authors, with a particular emphasis on minority languages and underrepresented voices. Since 2019, he has been leading the program and developing partnerships across Central Europe. Beyond residencies, Berberich has worked on international cultural projects in film, music, and performing arts, including X-Apartments and the award-winning music project Angrusori. His work also includes the presentation of Slovak video art at the Kyoto Art Festival and organized a showcase of Slovak cinema in Reykjavík. He has participated in professional forums at major festivals such as Venice, New York, Tokyo, and Berlin. |
During his exchange and research residency at L'AiR Arts, Lukáš focuses on developing more sustainable business models and marketing strategies for artist-in-residency programs in Slovakia. He aims to explore innovative approaches that can enhance the financial viability, accessibility, and long-term sustainability of residency initiatives. His research will draw from global best practices while addressing the specific challenges faced by residencies in Slovakia and Central Europe.
