Presented as part of Le Printemps du Dessin 2025
Wednesday, April 9th, 15-17h
Atelier 11 Cité Falguière, 75015 Paris
As a contribution to the 2025 Printemps du dessin, L'AiR Arts invites Paris-based artist Chloe Briggs and writer Lillian Davies to explore contemporary drawing and its relationship to the written word, introducing the medium to a wide audience.
Following the publication of their book Playgrounds (Drawing is Free Press, 2023), a reflection on the maternal and artistic experience of the public space, Briggs and Davies return to drawing, conversation and play as essential sites of research and creativity. The authors invite visitors inside the historic artist studio of Cité Falguière to discover the enduring importance of play for creative production.
An informal talk, drawing on the role of play in the work of artists of the Ecole de Paris and those who followed, including the ceaselessly experimental work of Niki de Saint Phalle, will be accompanied by a drawing and writing workshop proposing a playful discovery of drawing and place. All ages are welcome!
