Curated Residency Program: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future
In November 2025, L’AiR Arts hosts a curated residency program, continuing the 150th Anniversary of Atelier 11 Cité Falguière, the world’s longest-running international artist residency. Taking inspiration from the 2025 European Heritage Days’ theme, Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future, the program will celebrate the enduring legacy of Cité Falguière's last surviving atelier. Considering the iconic heritage and specific architecture of Parisian artist studios, participants will examine their historical significance and contemporary roles within and beyond the Montparnasse district.
The program convenes professionals from an international community, each engaging with urban spaces, architectural heritage, design and installation art, as well as print and moving image. Structured as a forum within the L'AiR Arts curated residency program, this intensive two-week experience facilitates and emphasizes collaborative exploration, set against the backdrop of Paris’s vibrant history and current artistic scene. With access to historic locations, sites of research, and dedicated professional exchange sessions, participants will explore the history of the École de Paris, cultivate lasting relationships with fellow residents, and expand their global creative network, while also presenting their work to a wider audience.

Falling within the duration of the residency are various international art fairs, along with numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, making this an especially exciting, vibrant and culturally rich time to experience Paris. The focus of this program will tie into these events, to ensure programming which maximises the opportunities and engagement relevant to the activities within the local arts scene.
In keeping with the legacy of Cité Falguière as a safe haven during the tumultuous 20th century, L’AiR Arts is pleased to offer scholarships to selected candidates from less economically developed countries (the OECD’s ODA list), as well as to artists at risk and in exile.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our artists, supporters, local program co-hosts, and institutional partners for upholding the welcoming spirit of the École de Paris and advancing international solidarity through cross-cultural dialogue and exchange.

“I'm still swimming in the joy and gratitude of taking part in this incredible residency alongside such smart, talented, and inspiring women— the artists I shared this time with, the amazing women on the L'AiR Arts team, the generous artists and art historians who shared their time and knowledge, and the legacy of the incredible women who paved the way. Thank you so much for including me in this opportunity. It was more than a dream come true. I am so thankful.”

” What an incredible two weeks it has been doing my research residency with L'AiR Arts. Thank you for bringing together a very diverse group of artists from around the world and in terms of practice. This experience really solidified the importance of collectives and international groups of people, especially artists, coming together, exchanging ideas and learning about the process of each artist, their artistic vision and how they approach executing their ideas. To top it all, we also had the amazing opportunity to see a crazy amount of art fairs and exhibitions in Paris that were all so unique and different!
