Inspired by this year’s theme of the European Heritage Days: Heritage Routes, Networks and Connections, L’AiR Arts is pleased to host the Artistic Research Forum, that will take place in Paris for two weeks in October and in November.
Organized as part of the cultural revival of the world’s longest-running international artists' residency – Atelier 11 Cité Falguière, that was recently recognized as a heritage site by the Region Ile-de-France, this residency program will provide a stimulating intercultural exchange, engaging with the vibrant history and contemporary art scene of Paris.
Structured as a forum within the L'AiR Arts curated professional program, the residency will bring together artists and cultural professionals from various parts of the world selected from an open call of over 400 applications. With a focus on expanded art practices, such as installation, alternative media, creative writing and performance, the curated program will provide access to Paris-based institutions, arts professionals, and sites of research with emphasis on meeting, connecting and professional development. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the inclusive history of the École de Paris, while developing lasting connections with fellow residents and expanding their international network.
Curated by Clare Patrick, the forum will consist of two group programs, October 6th to 20th and November 5th to 19th. Falling within the duration of these residencies are various international art fairs, making this an especially exciting, vibrant and culturally rich time to visit Paris. In October: Paris Plus and Also Known As Africa, and in November, Paris Photo, Approche and Polycopies. The focus of each month’s theme will tie into these events, to ensure programming which maximises the opportunities and engagement relevant to the activities within the local arts scene.

L'AiR Arts remains committed to promoting international solidarity through cross-cultural dialogue and exchange. To continue the legacy of Atelier 11 Cité Falguière as a safe haven to a multicultural artistic community during the war-torn 20th century, L'AiR Arts is pleased to partner with L’atelier des artistes en exil (agency of artists in exile) and offer several scholarships to selected artists participating in this residency program.
