Alicia González, Spain / France
Alicia González (b.1997) is a Spanish artist from Vigo whose artistic practice is oriented towards drawing and gesture. From a performative and physical perspective of drawing, she records her gestures and actions in a wide variety of supports and materials, from paper to audio, video, or everyday objects. Her work focuses on the relationship between the body and its environment, exploring how the inhabited space is loaded with social and cultural meanings that influence our world's perception. This curiosity to understand the environment from a social perspective led Alicia to combine her Fine Arts background with training in Social and Cultural Anthropology, allowing her to have a interdisciplinary approach.
Alicia received her BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. She graduated with honors, and her work was selected to be shown in the annual exhibition Sense Títol'19. As for her teaching experience, she has worked since 2017 with several institutions in the elaboration of workshops for different age groups. Alicia has also participated in exhibitions in her hometown, in Barcelona and Athens, where she did an exchange at the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2018. In 2022 Alicia received MFA in Drawing from the Paris College of Art and was awarded a one-month residency with L'AiR Arts at Atelier 11 in Paris, France. Portfolio |
