Ambra Castagnetti, Italy
Ambra Castagnetti, born in 1993 in Genova (Italy), and based in Milan, is a visual artist that works with sculpture, video and installation. After the bachelor in Anthropology, she graduated in Visual Arts at NABA (Milan) with a short film curated by Adrian Paci.
In September 2021, Ambra was invited by L'AiR Arts as a first international artist resident at the Atelier 11 of Cité Falguière, Paris. Inspired by the work of Constantin Brâncuși, one of the past residents of Cité Falguière, and using the materials found on site, she produced a new body of work. Titled Black Milk it was presented at the open studio event as part of the European Heritage Days.
In October 2021, Ambra is invited to participate to the La Biennale College Art workshop. After the first phase, up to 4 of 12 artists will be selected to receive a grant for the realization of the final work that will be presented out of competition in the context of the 59th International Art Exhibition The Milk Of Dreams curated by Cecilia Alemani.
Ambra is also working on her upcoming solo show at Galerie Rolando Anselmi in Rome. Her other recent shows and projects include: Renata Fabbri Gallery, Milan (2021), Manifattura Tabacchi, Florence (2021), Eastcontemporary, Entrevaux (2021), Rolando Anselmi Galerie (2021), Palazzo Monti, Brescia (2021), Mana Contemporary, New York (2020), Art Drive In, Brescia (2020), Casa Testori, Milan (2019), Villa Necchi, Milano (2019). In 2020 she joined the residency programmes in Palazzo Monti (Brescia) and Manifattura Tabacchi (Florence).
