Atelier 11 Salon Rouge:
Open Studio, Dinner & Dance Party!
L'AiR Arts is pleased to invite you to our first annual Atelier 11 Salon Rouge, a benefit soirée designed to celebrate the global arts community and to support Atelier 11 Cultural Heritage Project, dedicated to preserving the living heritage of the École de Paris.
For over 150 years Atelier 11 Cité Falguière has nurtured an international artistic community in Montparnasse, making it the world's longest-running international artist residency. While the 20th century community included artists Modigliani, Soutine, Brancusi and Foujita, today the L'AiR Arts Association keeps this heritage alive by hosting contemporary artists and cultural professionals from around the world. Now, as in the past, Atelier 11 continues to offer refuge in uncertain times and facilitate international cooperation.
The event will present one of the last chances to visit Atelier 11 before it closes for extensive restoration to reopen in 2024. Join us for the unique opportunity to mingle with artists, dine with art historians, and dance to the musical stylings of a DJ artist. Recommended dress code: ROUGE! Inspired by the Atelier's distinctive colour and/or your favorite artist or artwork.
We hope you will join us for our benefit salon and consider making a contribution to support Atelier 11 as it enters its new chapter.

Atelier 11 Open Studio: Exhibition & Book Launch
17 - 20h / 5 - 8 pm
To celebrate Atelier’s historic legacy before embarking on the restoration program, L'AiR Arts invites you to join us for a multidisciplinary event while revisiting the 150 years of atelier's artistic history. Enjoy the building in its current historic state: various architectural elements, cracks and marks of time and history, including recent interventions by contemporary artists. Bear witness to the cultural revival of this historic site while engaging with our growing international community. As part of L'AiR Arts intercultural exchange program, the event will feature exclusive presentations by Atelier 11 current residents. Visual artist Laura Põld from Estonia will showcase her latest body of work, blurring the boundaries between the current and the archaic to represent the continuum of time; while Paris-based artist Camille Boulay will present her research on the multiple selves using photography, performance, sound and video, to express the repeated construction and deconstruction of identity through one’s life. During this special occasion, we will also celebrate the launch of the much-anticipated book, Your Time Is My Time, that explores different aspects of migration, precariousness, belonging, and community-building in the context of evolving global networks and art production. |
