Elena Likhatskaya is our returning artist-in-residence who participated in Atelier sur Seine residency with us last year. Originally from Russia, ​​Elena lives in New York City and spends most of her time travelling between two continents. Her art practice spans across painting, drawing and printmaking. The theme of Elena's naïve style works is all that surrounds us expressed in a bounty of colour and joy of creation. Through her art, Elena prefers to release sympathy and kindness into the world to transform it in a happy paradise. As a Member of the Union of Russian Artists, Elena has numerous awards and recognitions, including Gold medal for contribution to the Russian Academy of Arts. She curated and organized various youth exhibitions and taught painting and drawing at the department of ceramics at Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute. Elena exhibits extensively in Russia, United States, China and Europe.
