The body and the human figure fuelled the practice of many visual artists of Cité Falguière, who were part of a larger international creative community at the heart of the Parisian avant-garde. Body depicted, body narrated, body in motion: this event offers an oral and visual journey about the body in poetry and literature in a multicultural perspective. This multilingual reading will feature selected works written by authors from the beginning of the 20th century who lived in Paris and who wrote about the body, including Anna Akhmatova, Guillaume Apollinaire, Blaise Cendrars, and more. The spoken word performances will be complemented by the interpretative dance of somatic movement artist Hiie Saumaa. |
