Emily Ruck Keene, Great Britain / France
Emily Ruck Keene is a British-born, Paris-based writer with a BA in French and English Literature from the University of Warwick, and an MA in Comparative Literature and Philology from the Sorbonne (Paris IV).
She is the President of Paris Lit Up (PLU), an independent publishing house and vibrant literary community that runs a weekly open mic, monthly writing workshops and other community-based literary events. Paris Lit Up would not exist without its team of volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to the promotion of creativity, not just in Paris but worldwide. Paris Lit Up’s events and publications advocate mutual respect. We celebrate diversity, fostering spaces where people of any gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, creed, level of ability and physical appearance feel welcome, respected and safe. PLU believes that creative and original art flourishes best in textured, polyphonic environments: compassion and encouragement inspire artistic communities to bloom. PLU is founded on revolution, and we encourage artists to use their craft as a tool to push for social change. |
