GIVE for ART program
L'AiR Arts GIVE for ART program provides you with a unique opportunity to acquire quality art directly from the artist by funding their artist residency by means of a scholarship.
Leading by example, L'AiR Arts makes this service available with priority artists based in less economically developed countries and invites you to participate in this meaningful exchange. Whether you are an experienced art collector or just thinking of investing in your first original art piece, our GIVE for ART program helps you select and acquire art while supporting an artist’s career.

“My experience with L'AiR Arts has been rewarding from the beginning. I was very fortunate to receive scholarship and the opportunity to exchange an artwork with a collector overseas through L'AiR Arts' Give for Art program. The intensive research into the historical and contemporary art world during my residency in Paris, was well organised and accurately structured. What otherwise would have been inaccessible for me, the residency provided me with a unique exposure, which I believe to be as essential for a young artist like me starting to move her way into the global art world. I believe such experiences provided by L'AiR Arts, and supporters of art to be instrumental in an artist's career. Transparency, support and genuinity is everything that L'AiR Arts offered to me.”

How it works
The scholarship amounts range from 500 euro for partial funding and up to 5000+ euro for a fully-funded residency, which may also include material costs, research grant and cover travel expenses. Art patrons wishing to provide scholarship/s in exchange for an art work or event can nominate their scholarship value based on financial capabilities and the desired art work.
Selected scholarship artists will be expected to donate an artwork in lieu of residency fees. There are no set criteria as to what this work should be - the piece will be agreed upon by both parties on a case-by-case basis resulting in a mutually beneficial and rewarding experience.
Art patrons are invited to join our selection committee comprised of art professionals (art advisers, curators, art critics and art historians) and choose an artist / artwork from our residency applicants, carefully shortlisted by experts, or nominate an artist whom they wish to support by providing them with a scholarship for the residency in Paris.
We will then invite the selected artist to attend the residency, inform them of the scholarship amount and facilitate the artwork exchange. The piece will be agreed upon by both parties (artist and patron) on a case-by-case basis coordinated by L’AiR Arts.

"L’AiR Arts hosted me as one of the first resident artists at L’Atelier sur Seine in September 2016. The scholarship opportunity through L'AiR Arts Give for Art program covered accommodation, meals, and an incredible working space. In addition to offering space and time to work the residency included numerous visits to cultural events such as Nuit Blanche in Paris, museums, art galleries and other places of interest. L’AiR Arts also arranged the opportunity to meet with local creatives and do a small presentation of my work in progress. This residency continues to inform my practice to date and were it not for the opportunity provided by L’AiR Arts I believe it would have taken a much longer time to consolidate my current work methodology."

For patrons: interested in helping artists make the residency in Paris possible while acquiring an artwork, please contact us at [email protected]
For artists: each residency applicant will be considered for funding through GIVE for ART program, with priority artists based in less economically developed countries. If you are unsure about the status of your country, please refer to the OECD’s DAC listed countries (note: we have the discretion to give funding to artists from countries that are not on the list, but have the ability to demonstrate economically disadvantaged status).
To be considered for funding, you would first need to apply for the residency and indicate the need for assistance in your application.
Please note: funded residency spaces are currently limited as we try to expand our network of supporters. Selected artists will be issued a letter of acceptance for further funding search through national and international funds.
