Una Laurencic, Serbia
Una Laurencic is expressing her perceptive vision through photography but studying at Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade (Serbia) provided her with experience in graphic design, calligraphy, and printmaking and so made her keen on combining different mediums with photography and exploring the uncertainty of the process.
Through presentational methods of Una's work, in depths of obscurity she is expanding the line between pure photography and conceptual art. Her work explores the delicate relationship between raw reality and latent emotions, mostly focusing on social subjects and documentary yet creative photography. The method of connecting context is expressed through the contrast between the narrative itself and already familiar (traditional) things. In her work, the absence of the expected is noted as well as time consumption. In an attempt to portray vulnerable life situations with a certain amount of humor and social critique, she is constantly exploring with different equipment and media and bringing together unconventional and traditional. |
