Waging Justice in Ukraine
We are honoured to present 'Waging Justice in Ukraine', a talk in partnership with the Clooney Foundation for Justice as part of L'AiR Arts solidarity initiative. This event is facilitated in conjunction with Baiser Russe, an exhibition presented by exiled Ukrainian artist and current resident, Vasyl Grubliak, in collaboration with Artists at Risk.

6:30 - 7:30pm (exhibition open from 4pm)
11 Cité Falguière, 75015 Paris, France
A safe haven to a multicultural community during the war-torn 20th century, Atelier 11 Cité Falguière remains committed to promoting peace and international solidarity through cross-cultural dialogue. For this event, we have invited Anya Neistat, Legal Director of The Docket initiative at the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Neistat has documented human rights violations in Chechnya, Syria, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, China, Georgia, and many other countries. She has worked in Ukraine together with the team of experts to collect evidence of war crimes. During the event, she will present her findings alongside the pertinent project by L'AiR Arts current resident from Ukraine, Vasyl Grubliak. Titled Baiser russe, the installation is created from fragments of Russian missiles extracted from the debris that are now part of the evidence in the ongoing investigations into war crimes committed in Ukraine. In this talk, Anya Neistat will focus on the scale of these crimes, the need for accountability and the importance of keeping the focus on the war in Ukraine as the world’s attention moves elsewhere.
Watch the recorded video of the talk moderated by writer and veteran, Matt Jones, followed by a Q&A with the speaker, Anya Neistat, and the artist, Vasyl Grubliak.
